Hard Chrome plating is one of the main electroplating processes used both in the coating of new components, adding surface characteristics superior to those of the base metal, and for the recovery of components, acting mainly in the repair of dimensional ones. Due to its high hardness, it is also possible to obtain resistance to corrosion, oxidation and abrasion. Hard Chrome has always been a reference in the national industry with application in all markets.
Cascadura Coasting was a pioneer in Brazil with the implementation of this process in the national industry and has chrome baths in its service centers.
Depending on your situation our engineering team will quickly find the best solution and quality to meet your needs.
This technique is performed on metallic components, through the electrodeposition of chromium ions present in the chromic acid solution in the bath after immersion of the previously prepared part.
This preparation of the parts, before being immersed in the bath, aims to clean, and activate the surface where the coating will be applied.
Immediately after preparation, the surface is in the natural passivation phase, in which, through the oxidation reaction in the environment inside the chromium bath, chromium oxides are formed on the coated surface. The preparation of the layer can include mechanical stripping, polishing, construction of fastening devices, degreasing and surface washing, among others.
This preparation is extremely important to obtain the main characteristics of the hard chrome used in Cascadura Coatings, such as:
