Welding

We offer welding services through TIG/MIG and Coated Electrode methods, depositing on carbon steel to stainless steel alloys.

It is used in addition to our services to carry out fabrications or minor repairs located on components, such as:

  • End plates
  • Filling threads
  • Keyways, among others

How It Works

Welding aims to permanently join two materials due to the melting and deposit of new materials causing fusion.

Metal Inert Gas (MIG) – is a method in which an electric arc is opened between the part and the consumable metallic electrode, melting them, and forming a molten pool that is under an inert atmosphere. The procedure is used in the manufacture of components, equipment maintenance, recovery of worn parts and coating of metallic surfaces with special materials.

Tungsten Inert Gas (TIG) – is a metal bonding process in which an electric arc is struck between a non-consumable tungsten electrode and the workpiece, causing fusion between the filler metal and the base material under the shield of inert gas. an inert atmosphere, ensuring the cleanliness and protection of the molten puddle. The added metal is in the form of rods, which are added to the weld pool at a low deposition rate. Because it is a weld of greater quality and precision, this arc is of relatively low intensity, making it ideal for the manufacture and recovery of thin components, such as tubes and sheets/plates, keyways, among others.

Coated Electrode (ER) – also known as Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW), is a metallurgical joining process in which an electric arc is opened between a consumable electrode, composed of a metal core coated with flux, and the workpiece. This flow is responsible for generating the gases and liquid slag that protect the weld pool. This process is considered the most versatile, widely used in manufacturing in virtually all base material thicknesses, with a wide variety of consumables such as low carbon, low, medium, and high alloy steel, stainless steel, nickel alloys, among others.
