We support the compassion project, which was founded in 2015, with a commitment to alleviate the difficult conditions of people who are in extreme poverty. The Project consists of four actions, serving Salvador and the Metropolitan Region.
Donations by food banks and Soup kitchens
Compassion Project had the initial objective of alleviating people's hunger through the donations distributed by food banks. During the Covid-19 pandemic, the action was intensified, which increased the number of people reached.
During the same time, a new action was incorporated into the project through the preparation of soups, attracting volunteers who contribute by receiving groceries to delivering them to people in need. Soup kitchens reach 80 to 100 people per location, in the regions of Abrantes, Lauro de Freitas, Mussurunga, Águas Claras, Boca da Mata, Dom Avelar, Santo Inácio, Paripe, Tubarão, São Marcos, Doron, Jardim Cruzeiro, Vista Alegre, Baixinha, Itapoã, São Cristóvão, Uruguay, Pistão, Saramandaia and 7 additional locations on the Island of Itaparica and Mar Grande, totaling 27 points, serving an average of 2,340 people, weekly.
Housing
Observing the harsh reality of these people highlighted the need to add a new action to the project that aimed to build and renovate homes in precarious housing conditions, as many of them live without the basic security and comfort of a home. The Project then joined hands with Hope Motorcycle Club, which offers help in the execution and thus contributes to making the action come true, providing these people with a decent place to live.
New Start – Addiction Center
The New Start Project, located in Coqueiro de Arembepe/BA, provides assistance to drug addicts, with the aim of enabling the treatment, recovery and subsequent re-insertion of these people into society. Lives are transformed and new stories are born. The future that once seemed hopeless, takes on new start.
This is possible not only because of the treatments offered, but also in the participation in activities that involve the maintenance of the place by the people undergoing rehabilitation. The support is given through the donation of food, improvements in the structure, in addition to meeting the basic needs of the project.
Orphanage
The orphanage is under construction in the city of Inhambupe/BA with the support of the City Hall and will have the capacity to accommodate up to 24 children.
